Frédéric Teschner is a graphic designer and book artist. The publication ‘Le Havre’ is a personal interpretation of the port of Le Havre focusing on the etymology of the place. Etymology is the study of the origin of words and how the meaning of words have changed thought history. In 2011, Frédéric Teschner produced a set of five posters as part of the event ‘Une Saison Graphique/A Graphic Season’. Each of the five posters were designed and dedicated to one of the five letters in the word ‘Havre’. Frédéric Teschner’s willingness to experiment derives from the Impressionists, who captured experience through fleeting impressions of mood and reality.
Franciscopolis Éditions was founded in 2012 by Jean-Michel Géridan and Yann Owens. The publishing house Franciscopolis is dedicated to the edition prints and multiples, but also essays on art.
‘The educational component is an important dimension. We invite designers in our screen printing workshop. The students of ESADHaR are practically involved in the production of posters. This contributes to a practical understanding of the industry and its business,’ says Yann Owens.
